Walter Ray "Junior" Flory, Jr., 72, of Manheim, PA, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend unexpectedly and peacefully entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on Friday morning, August 7, 2020 at his home. Born in Hershey on July 20, 1948, he was the son of the late Walter Ray Flory, Sr. and Verna E. Buffenmeyer Flory. He was a resident of Lebanon County his entire lifetime. Junior is survived by his wife of 53 years, Brenda E. Teahl Flory.
Junior was a member of Mount Wilson Church of the Brethren in Lebanon. Prior to suffering a work-related accident in 2012, he was employed as a truckdriver by E.E. Shenk & Sons in Elizabethtown for 32 years. Junior enjoyed reading books and watching movies about the American West. He also enjoyed camping, horseback riding, and collecting Winross trucks. He will be remembered for his silly nature, entertaining stories, ability to fix any and everything, and especially his love for his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children, Melanie, wife of Quentin Leiberher, of Palmyra, Kyle, husband of Sherry Flory, of Bethel, April, wife of Steve Kreiser, of Palmyra, Vanessa, wife of Steve Kline, of Annville, Tasha, wife of Jon Slothour, of Manheim, and Steve, husband of Heidi Flory, of Hegins; 27 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and four sisters, Diane, wife of Eric Beckman, of Adamstown, Roxanne, wife of Richard Musser, of Schoeneck, Brenda, wife of Dean Bilger, of Denver, and Melissa, wife of Charles Brenner, of Denver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Reitler.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday morning, August 12, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Mount Wilson Church of the Brethren, 1261 Mt. Wilson Road, Lebanon, PA 17042. The family will receive guests during a viewing at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be private. Masks are optional.
