Steven E. Sonnen, 50, of Manheim, PA, died on Tuesday morning, December 18, 2012 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy, PA following a brief illness. Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of R. Elaine Hershey Dalley and the late Edward Sonnen. A 1980 graduate of Manheim Central High School, he was employed for nearly 14 years as a lock finalizer by Dorma Door Controls, Inc. in Reamstown, PA. Steve was an avid NASCAR enthusiast, collecting NASCAR memorabilia and attending swap meets and races at Dover (DE) Speedway. His favorite driver was the late Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his mother, Steve is survived by his step-father, Milton M. Dalley of Manheim; a brother, James G., husband of Lori Sonnen, of York, PA; a step-brother, Christopher Dalley of Bethlehem, PA; and two uncles, E. Eugene Hershey of Manheim, and J. Richard, husband of Mary Alice Hershey, of Deluth, MN. At Steve's request, there will be no service. Please omit flowers.
