Rosene J. Shenk, 80, of Lititz, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday morning, November 14, 2018 at United Zion Retirement Community. Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late Linn C. and Mildred Hostetter Longenecker. She was the loving wife of Harry B. Shenk for 62 years on September 22. A homemaker, Rosene was a member of Lancaster Alliance Church. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked in the family business of the former Longenecker's Wholesale Greenhouses in Manheim. Rosene always enjoyed caring for children in the church nursery and working in her lawn and flower gardens. She also delighted in sewing clothing for her children, hiking and taking long walks with her husband. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Cyndi K., wife of Dr. Brian Dawson, of Loveland, OH, Kevin R., husband of Christine Fenicle Shenk, of Lititz, and Douglas L., husband of Mindy Storr, of Granger, IN; 10 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two siblings, Marilyn Sanko Ebel, wife of William Ebel, of Lancaster, and Garry L., husband of Peg Longenecker, of Manheim. She was also preceded in death by two great grandchildren. The family thanks the staff of United Zion Retirement Community for the care provided to Rosene during her time there. A memorial service will be held on Saturday morning, November 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM Lancaster Alliance Church, 210 Pitney Road, Lancaster, PA. Private interment will be in the Erisman Mennonite Cemetery, Manheim. There will be no public viewing. The family will receive guests at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
