Obituary

Roger R. "Ringo" Ecenrode, 71, of Manheim, PA died unexpectedly on Friday afternoon, November 1, 2013 at his residence of natural causes. Born in Brownstown, PA, he was the son of the late Melvin E. and Dorothy Wenrich Ecenrode. He was the husband of Barbara A. Plasterer Ecenrode for 52 years on June 8. After attending Milton Hershey Schools, Ringo enlisted in the United States Army and served as a private. He was employed for more than 30 years as a laborer by the former Raybestos in Manheim until the factory closed. He then was employed by the United Postal Service as custodian at the Manheim Post Office. He was a member of the Germania Band Club and was an avid Oakland Raiders fan as well as a fan of all Philadelphia sports teams. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Wendy M. Ecenrode of Mount Joy, PA, Dorothy L. Canterbury of Manheim, Roger R. Ecenrode, Jr. of Manheim, David M. Ecenrode of Wilkes Barre, PA, and Jody L. Heagy of Lebanon, PA; 18 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a sister, Dorey Ecenrode of Lititz, PA. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Terry Wells. Services are private.
