Paul Z. Snyder, 74, of Elizabethtown, PA, passed away on Monday morning, March 9, 2015, at Oak Leaf Manor North, Landisville, after a three month illness. Born in Florin, PA on November 24, 1940, he was the youngest son of the late Elmer Rupp Snyder and the late Kathryn Eshelman Zug Snyder. Paul was a 1960 graduate of the Donegal High School, Mount Joy, where he was an outstanding catcher on the high school baseball team. He was employed several years at the former Clearview Diner in Rheems, but worked most of his life at Continental Press in Elizabethtown until his retirement. An avid sports enthusiast, Paul enjoyed collecting photos of sports stars, playing baseball, pickleball, dancing, and eating at buffet restaurants. He is survived by three children, Kathy Snyder Dumas (wife of Alan) of Columbia, Deborah Snyder Richardson (wife of Jamie) of Mechanicsburg, and Stephen Snyder of Marietta; four grandchildren, Alden Dumas, Denver Dumas, Joseph Richardson, and Laurie Richardson; two sisters, Vivian Snyder Ziegler (wife of Earl) of Brethren Village in Lancaster and Fanny Ruth Snyder Reider (widow of Paul) of Calvary Homes in Lancaster; sister-in-law, Joyce Frey Snyder of East Petersburg; nine nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Dottie Boots of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Christian Bernard Snyder in 1938 and Charles Bertram Snyder in 2008. Private interment will be in Chiques Cemetery, Manheim, PA. There will be no viewing.
