Myrtle S. White, 94, of Lititz, PA, formerly of Manheim, was called home to heaven on Thursday morning, June 29, 2017 at Landis Homes after a period of declining health. Born in Mount Joy Twp., she was the daughter of the late John K. and Katie Hess Stauffer. She was the wife of Stanley H. White for 72 years prior to his passing in 2014.
A homemaker, Mrs. White was a member of White Oak Church of the Brethren in Manheim. In addition to enjoying crocheting, she found pleasure in listening to music and singing.
She is survived by three daughters, Marcella M., wife of J. Marlin Myer, of Manheim, Lois I., wife of Dale E. Wolgemuth, of Manheim, and Brenda J., wife of Glenn R. Garber, of East Petersburg; a son, David E., husband of Sally J. Shenk White, of Manheim; 11 grandchildren, Deanne Gingrich, Pamela Myer, Sonia Urban, Justin Wolgemuth, Lance Wolgemuth, Zachary Wolgemuth, Michele Garber, Richard Garber, Travis White, Abby Beck, and Evan White; and 20 great grandchildren.
The family is grateful for the loving care given to her by the staff of Landis Homes and Hospice and Community Care.
There will be no public viewing. The family will receive guests at a drop-in reception on Wednesday evening, July 5, 2017 at the Welcome Center at Manheim Brethren in Christ Church, 54 North Penryn Road, Manheim from 6-8:00 PM. Please use West Entrance of the church. Private interment will be in the White Oak Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
