Myron L. "Mike" Graef, 74, of 300 West Lemon Street, Lititz, PA, formerly of Kenosha, WI, passed away Monday evening, May 2, 2011 at Moravian Manor after years of declining health and Alzheimer's dementia. Born in Winside, NE, he was the son of the late Otto and Minnie Loebsack Graef.
Mike was a graduate of Winside High School and at the close of the Korean War, he served his country in the United States Army stationed in Germany. In 1993, he retired as sales manager from G&H/Alfa-Laval where he was employed for nearly 20 years. He was both a Green Bay Packers and Nebraska Corn Huskers fan. He will be remembered as a loving dad, grandpa, traveler, outdoorsman, friend, and tinkerer.
Mike is survived by six children, Jennifer, wife of Tom Leedle, of Lake Geneva, WI, Susan, wife of Tom Ford, of Manheim, PA, Michael Graef of Naperville, IL, Connie, wife of John Patten, of Sharon, WI, Traci, wife of David Cooper, of Manheim, and Gina, wife of Duane Ober, of Manheim; 20 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and five sisters, Florine Hill of Omaha, NE, Mary, wife of Don Langenberg, of Norfolk, NE, Nancy Niemann of Wayne, NE, Judy Sorensen of Wayne, and Janet Eccher of Crystal River, FL. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Jerry Graef.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Manheim Brethren in Christ Church, 54 North Penryn Road, Manheim, PA with Pastor Lou Astuto officiating. Interment will be private in Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Manheim. The family will receive guests at a reception in the fellowship hall of the church immediately following the service.
