Melanie Dawn (Thompson) Simmons, 51, passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones.  She had fought the battle of cancer heroically until Jesus called her home.  Melanie was known to be kind and gentle to everyone and her sweet spirit will be missed by many.

Melanie is survived by her father Richard Thompson of Delaware; three brothers, Ryan Thompson, Jeremy Thompson and Jonathan Thompson; and four children, Dustin Stauffer, Bradley Thompson, Nathan Simmons, and Jenelle Simmons.  There are many beloved uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews who will all cherish loving memories of Melanie. She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Mary (Smith) Thompson and an infant brother, Richard Thompson, Jr.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 11 AM at Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, 48 Market Square, Manheim PA 17545. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice & Community Care, Lancaster, PA. Final arrangements are handled by William P Spence Funeral & Cremation Services, Manheim PA.
