Mary E. Tolley, 78, of Lititz, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday evening, July 22, 2015 at Moravian Manor in Lititz. Born in Elizabeth Twp., Lancaster County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence L. and Phoebe Wert Malin. She was the wife of the late Charles W. Tolley for 44 years before his passing in 2001.
Mary was a 1954 graduate of Lebanon High School. After their marriage, Mary relocated to her husband's hometown of Lynchburg, VA before returning to Lancaster County to raise their family. A homemaker, Mary was an active member of First Baptist Church in Lebanon and a former member of Grace Fellowship in Ephrata for 20 years. She was a children's Sunday school teacher for many years. She provided child care for pre-school children in her home for 37 years. She enjoyed flower gardening, raising houseplants, and sewing for family and friends. She was known and will be remembered for her servant's heart.
She is survived by four children, C. Douglas, husband of Debra E. Daub Tolley, of Lititz, Cristel R., wife of Luke R. Witman, of Lititz, Melanie G., wife of Todd A. Petticoffer, of Manheim, and Shannon D. Tolley of Manheim; 11 grandchildren; three great granddaughters; and six siblings, Joseph L. Malin of Myerstown, Frances M. Nelson of Ephrata, R. David, husband of Jeanette Malin, of Lebanon, Margaret R. Donmoyer of Jonestown, Catherine L., wife of Nevin Stohler, of Lebanon, and Anna Mae Heilman of Akron. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Howard K. Malin.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 10:30 am at First Baptist Church, 20 Linden Road, Lebanon, PA 17042 with Pastors Brian Fernett and George Mackey officiating. Interment will be in Graybill Cemetery, Lititz. The family will receive guests at the church on Monday evening from 7-9:00 pm and on Tuesday morning from 9:30 am until the time of the service.
