Martha Susanna Marsh, died peacefully on March 29 at the age of 90 in the Willow Valley Retirement Community, Lancaster, PA. Her great loves in life were her family, faith and church. She was born on June 6, 1919 in Brooklyn, N Y but spent all of her childhood in Weehawken, NJ as part of a close-knit German speaking community. Her parents were Susanna Rehrauer Huber and Emil Huber. One of her fondest childhood memories was of spending summer vacations with extended family at the Winter Clove Inn in the Catskill Mountains. She also talked of swimming with friends in the yet unspoiled Hudson River. In 1935, at age 16, she left Weehawken for Houghton College, where she completed her degree in just three years. It was here that she met Frank Dennis Marsh of Jasper, NY. They were married in 1943, living first in Boston and then in New Jersey during World War II. After the war they moved to Wilmington, DE where they raised their three children while Frank worked for Dupont. They stayed in Wilmington until Frank died in 1998. Martha was a resident at Willow Valley Retirement Community since 1999.
Martha will be dearly missed by her friends and all members of her family but especially by her three children, Sue, Dave and Steve and four grandchildren, Emily, Peter, Andy and Becky.
