Obituary

Mark L. Yost, 93, of Columbia, PA, formerly of Manheim, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior following a brief illness on Sunday, January 19, 2014, at Susquehanna Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Columbia. Born in Palo Alto, PA, he was the son of the late Daniel and Mary (Roddamaker) Yost. He was the husband of the late Pearl E. Yost, who died in 2012. They were married 59 years. Mr. Yost was a welder for 45 years, and in retirement he worked in maintenance at Lancaster Laboratories. Mr. Yost served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Grace Chapel in Elizabethtown, PA. He had a life-long love of God and his family. Mr. Yost is survived by a daughter, Faith E. Bryson of Mount Joy; a son, Jim M., husband of Linda Yost of Lancaster, PA; a daughter, Joyce, wife of Clarence Bailey, of North Umberland, PA; four grandchildren, Jennifer Butler, Katie Bryson, Justin Yost, and Brittany Yost; one great granddaughter, Bethany Butler. He was preceded in death by a brother Pete Yost and two sisters, Betty Carter and Gertrude Wood. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014, at 10:00 AM at Grace Chapel, 2535 Colebrook Road, Elizabethtown, PA, 17022 with Pastor Melvin Weaver officiating. The family will receive guests at the church on Friday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Following a luncheon at the church, interment will be at 1:30 PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. If desired, contributions in his memory may be made to Grace Chapel.
