Obituary

Marian R. Wenger, 83, of Manheim, formerly of Quarryville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday afternoon, February 1, 2015 at Lancaster Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Mount Joy, PA, she was the daughter of the late Leroy M. and Naomi Stauffer Wenger. Marian was a devoted Christian who expressed her faith in caring for and helping others, reading and studying the Bible, singing, and constant prayer. She attended Immanuel Christian Fellowship in Manheim. She also enjoyed cooking and crocheting. A registered nurse, Marian was a graduate of Lancaster General Hospital of Nursing. Her nursing career involved employment in Chicago, Lancaster General Hospital, and the former Osteopathic Hospital in Lancaster. More recently, she was a private duty nurse. During her career, she most enjoyed the time spent as a maternity nurse. She was also a graduate of Manchester (IN) College with degrees in home economics and religion. She is survived by a daughter, Michele, wife of Roger L. Shenk, of Manheim; two grandchildren, Cody R. and Kelly J. Shenk; and three siblings Dorothy L. Rice of North Manchester, IN, Clarence R., husband of Carolyn Wenger, and L. Benjamin, husband of Nancy Wenger, all of Quarryville. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Chiques Church of the Brethren, 4045 Sunnyside Road, Manheim, PA. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive guests at the church on Thursday evening from 6-8:00 PM and on Friday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
