Lois J. Haldeman, 81, of Manheim, PA went home to be with her Lord on Monday afternoon, December 14, 2015 at Ephrata Manor following a brief illness. Born in Campbelltown, she was the daughter of the late Simon H. and Jennie L. Mengel Hoffer. She was the wife of Rufus F. Haldeman for 56 years prior to his passing in 2009.
Mrs. Haldeman was a member of Community Bible Church in Palmyra. Prior to retiring in 1999, she was employed for 13 years by Phil Haven Hospital in housekeeping. Previously, she was employed for nine years by the former Colebrook Lingerie. In addition to joyfully being a wife and mother, she enjoyed crocheting and reading.
She is survived by four children, Deborah K., wife of Carl Gibble of Manheim, Glenda J., wife of Rodney Bradley of New Holland, Brian L., husband of Wendy Willwerth Haldeman of Lititz, and Gail M., wife of Alan Simerson of Mays Landing, NJ; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and nine siblings, Jay R., husband of Eleanor Hoffer, of Annville, Simon L., husband of Georgine Hoffer, of Martinsburg, Ruth N. Fisher of Manheim, Marvin, husband of Marie Hoffer, of Campbelltown, Allen, husband of Victoria Hoffer, of Hummelstown, Alvin Hoffer of Earlville, MD, Donald, husband of Darlene Hoffer, of Harrisburg, Maryann, wife of Roger Nye, of Manheim, and Linda Turner of Bakersfield, CA.
A funeral service will be held on Friday morning, December 18, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Community Bible Church, 1849 South Forge Road, Palmyra, PA 17078 with Pastor Greg Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Shenk's Cemetery in Elizabethtown. The family will receive guests at the church on Friday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Please omit flowers.
