Kathleen A. (Bradley) Fortney, 62, of Mount Joy, PA, went home to see Jesus on Monday morning, August 3, 2015 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Helen N. Hostetter Watts. She was the wife of Dennis Fortney.
Kathleen was a member of the Manheim campus of LCBC where she was a student of the Foundations Sunday school class. She was formerly a longtime member of Calvary Bible Church in Mount Joy. After remaining at home to raise her children, Kathleen attended and graduated from the former St. Joseph's School of Nursing as a registered nurse. She was employed by Lancaster General Hospital and Mennonite Home.
In addition to photography, reading, and music, she enjoyed decorating cakes, making candy, and doing crafts. She had a strong passion for experiencing the wonder and joy of Heaven and being in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, a son, Lee, husband of Deborah C. Bradley, of Mount Joy, and their children, Elizabeth, William, and Allison, and daughter, Kelly, wife of Hobert W. Hobbs, Jr., of Marietta, and their children, Skylar Bradley and Justin Hobbs; her former husband, Carmen Bradley; five siblings, Charles, husband of Dawn Watts, of Elizabethtown, Harold, husband of Louise Watts, of Elizabethtown, Ralph, husband of Donna Watts, of Elizabethtown, Donna, wife of Jim Smith, of Maytown, and Kay, wife of Glen Peters, of Elizabethtown; and one brother-in-law Gerald Kirkpatrick. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Jean Kirkpatrick and Kenneth Watts.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday evening, August 5, 2015 at 7:00 pm at LCBC, 2392 Mount Joy Road, Manheim, PA. Please use Plaza Entrance. There will be no viewing. The family will receive guests at the church on Wednesday evening from 6:30 pm until the time of the service. Please omit flowers.
