Joanne M. Eby, 86, of Manheim, PA, formerly of Willow Street, entered the presence of God on Friday morning, September 4, 2026 at Pleasant View Retirement Community in Manheim. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Phares B. Denlinger and Mildred (Rapp) Denlinger Kerner. She was the wife of the late H. Kenneth Eby, Jr. for 52 years prior to his death in 2015.
Joanne was a member of First Reformed Church in Lancaster where she sang in the choir and was a past president of the church council. After completing Lancaster Business School in 1961, she worked as a manager of the Sheraton-Conestoga hotel and at various banking institutions as an administrative assistant. She was an executive assistant at Willow Valley Retirement Communities until her retirement in 2012.
Joanne was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Robert Fulton Chapter No. 446 in Quarryville. She was also a member and past president of the Willow Street Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. In addition to snowmobiling in Old Forge, New York, Joanne enjoyed listening to country music, and watching NASCAR, especially her favorite driver, the late #3 Dale Earnhardt.
Joanne is survived by two siblings, Kris, wife of Steve Cochran, of Galeton, and Drew, husband of Jennifer Kerner, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; two brothers-in-law, Rick Boyd of Lancaster, and Emerson Newswanger of New Holland; a sister-in-law, Carol Denlinger of Manheim; an aunt, Jeannette Miller of New Holland; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by four siblings, Robert Denlinger, Ronald Denlinger, Brenda Boyd, and Sandra Newswanger.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday afternoon, September 12, 2026 at 4:00 PM at Willow Street Mennonite Cemetery, 399 East Penn Grant Road, Willow Street, PA. If desired, contributions may be made in her memory to the benevolent fund of Pleasant View Retirement Community, 544 North Penryn Road, Manheim, PA 17545.
