Howard R Cortright, 74, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Bob Fryer and Family Inpatient Center of Hospice & Community Care in Mount Joy. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Russell H. and Mary Whisler Cortright. Surviving Howard are his sisters, Carolyn, wife of Norman Patrick, of Lancaster, Christene, wife of Jerry Krentz, of Lititz, Charlotte, wife of Richard Parsons, of Mount Joy, and Cynthia Ross of Conestoga. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Russell H. Cortright Jr., and a sister, Constance Sheaffer. Howard proudly served as an instructor on the rifle range at Parris Island, SC during his service in the USMC. He was a thirty year retiree from Penn Dairies in Lancaster. Howard was a kind and gentle man who will be greatly missed by his family and friends. According to Howard's wishes, services will be private and at the convenience of his family.
