Obituary

Harvey K. "Esh" Eshelman, 93, of Elizabethtown, PA, passed away on Monday evening, February 12, 2018 at United Zion Retirement Community in Lititz. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Harvey B. and Irene Kerchoff Eshelman. He was the husband of Olive G. Sweigart Eshelman for 71 years on April 14. Esh was a member of First Church of God in Elizabethtown. During World War II, he served his country in the south Pacific during his enlistment in the United States Navy. Prior to retiring in 1986, he was employed for 26 years by AMP, Inc. in the Elizabethtown facility as a manufacturing, methods, and shipping engineer. Earlier, he was employed by the former Classic Hosiery in Elizabethtown as a machine operator. Esh maintained membership in the American Legion, Conewago Post No. 329, Elizabethtown. A favorite pasttime was building model ships and other seacraft, many of which are displayed in museums and other places. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jerry S., husband of Lesley Dunn Eshelman, of Stoke-on-Trent, England; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey L. Eshelman, and two sisters, Evelyn Bates and an infant sister, Geraldine Eshelman. A private graveside service will be held at Mount Tunnel Cemetery in Elizabethtown. There will be no viewing.
