Obituary

Gloria M. Sweigart, 82, of Manheim, PA, passed away on January 9, 2018 following a brief illness. Born in Heidelberg Twp., Lebanon Co., she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Violet Sattesahn Lerch. She was the wife of the late Lester H. "Gummy" Sweigart who died in 2011 after 58 years of marriage. Prior to retiring in 1998, Gloria was employed in the floral department of Stauffers of Kissel Hill. Previously, she was employed by the former Plain and Fancy Egg Ranch in Manheim in egg processing. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Lititz Springs Chapter No. 499 and a life member of Elstonville Sportsmen's Association. Gloria had an artistic ability that was expressed in her floral designs and her recent interest in taking classes in painting. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandsons. She is survived by two children, Patsy L. Heistand, and James L., husband of Pauline "Polly" Kahley Sweigart, both of Manheim; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandsons; and five siblings, Gladys Kelly, Geraldine, wife of Leon Long, and Robert Lerch, all of Lebanon, Larry, husband of Donna Donmoyer Lerch, of Schaefferstown, and Russell, husband of Marge Coy Lerch, of Henderson, WV. She was also preceded in death by four siblings, Glenn, Kenneth, Walter, and Ronald Lerch. There is no public viewing or service. Interment will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville. Please omit flowers.
