Gerald F. “Jerry” Becker, 87, of Elizabethtown, PA, entered into rest on September 2, 2026. Born in Mount Joy, he was the son of the late Henry T. Becker Sr. and Sadie (Faus) Becker. Jerry was the husband of Jeneba S. “Jenny” Becker, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.

After graduating from Donegal High School in 1956, Jerry earned a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering and a Master’s degree in business administration, both from Penn State. From 1962 to 1964, he served in 1-W service with Brethren Volunteer Service in Nigeria.

Jerry was employed by Bethlehem Steel for 28 years as a superintendent of the rolling mill in Steelton. After retiring from Bethlehem Steel, he worked as a steel production consultant, traveling to more than 55 countries.

In addition to serving on the Mount Joy Township Planning Commission, he was elected to the township Board of Supervisors and volunteered in various other capacities. Throughout the years, Jerry was an avid tennis player and loved playing board games with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Timothy L. Becker of Woodstock, GA, and Gregory L. Becker, husband of Lara (Smith) Becker, of Milton, GA; two grandsons, Bryce and Bradford Becker; two siblings, Henry Becker Jr. of Elizabethtown and Dorcas Becker of Harrisburg, and his nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Martin.
