Enriqueta A. Escandon, 89, of Palmyra, PA, formerly of Miami, FL, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Kadima Rehabilitation and Nursing at Palmyra.  Born in Chiclayo, Peru, she was one of eight children born to Thomas Amay and Angela Gastiaburu.

Enriqueta was a devote Catholic her entire life.  Most of her career was as a machine operator making clothing.  Later, she provided house cleaning services to others.  In addition to sewing, she enjoyed crocheting and cooking delicious Peruvian food.

Enriqueta is survived by her two children, Kathy C. Piedra of Palmyra and Thomas D. Escandon, husband of Kathy Escandon, of Manchester, NH; seven grandchildren: Gina Escandon, Chantel C. Colon and husband Derek Colon, David A. Piedra, Alexander L. Piedra and fiancé Alexis Shields, Dillon Escandon, Zackary Escandon and Spencer Escandon; three great grandchildren; and three sisters: Lilia Galleno of Miami, Elsa Marie Doig and Carmela Barco, both of Chiclayo, Peru.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Lazaro Piedra.
