Dolores S. Watson, 87, of Elizabethtown, PA, formerly of Lancaster, passed into eternity on Sunday evening, November 27, 2016 at Masonic Health Care Center in Elizabethtown following a 10 year struggle with dementia. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Edna Miller Sidler. She was the wife of Forrest J. "Jack" Watson for 67 years prior to his passing on September 30 of this year.
Dolores was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elizabethtown and previously a very active member of the former Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lancaster. She was a 1947 graduate of McCaskey High School in Lancaster and, in her younger years, was employed as a physicians' bookkeeper. Her true life's work was, however, providing a nurturing home for her family, expressed in her talents of baking, cooking, sewing, and supporting her children and grandchildren in all of their various activities. She also enjoyed spending time socially with her friends.
She is survived by two children, Kathy W., wife of William J. Prazenica, of Elizabethtown, and Mark S., husband of Sharon L. Kashner Watson, of Lancaster; four grandchildren, Stephen Prazenica, Natalie Herr, Matthew Watson, and Christopher Watson; and five great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday morning, November 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 75 East High Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
