Carol Ann Ober, 77, of Manheim, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, May 7, 2025 at Pleasant View Retirement Community with her family by her side. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Abel B. and Gladys B. Geib Balmer. She was the loving wife of James R. Ober for 60 years on December 5.
Prior to retiring, she was employed for 25 years as a machine operator by M&M/Mars in Elizabethtown. Previously, she was employed by Woodstream and Johnson & Johnson, both in Lititz. After retiring, she provided childcare in her home. Carol Ann was a life member of the American Legion in Lititz and Elstonville Sportsmen Association. In addition to frequent trips to Myrtle Beach and cross stitching, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Steven J., husband of Julia Landis Ober, of Manheim, and Melissa A. Alexander of Lititz; two grandchildren, Jeremy Ober and Heather Alexander, wife of Angel Domingues; three great grandchildren; and a brother, Dennis L., husband of Rose Balmer, of Manheim. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brandy Alexander Magareata.
The Ober family extends their gratitude to the staff at Pleasant View for the kindness and care they provided to Carol Ann and their entire family.
A funeral service will be held on Monday morning, May 12, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Hoffer Auditorium, 544 North Penryn Road, Manheim. There will be no public viewing. The family will receive guests at Hoffer Auditorium on Monday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Manheim Fairview Cemetery.
