Carol A. Frechette, 61, of Manheim, PA, formerly of Bridgeport, CT, died Friday morning, October 29, 2010 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy, PA following a courageous 16 month battle with cancer. Born in Shamokin, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Rose Masinos Fidler. She was the loving wife of the late Roderick J. Frechette who died July 21, 2010.
Carol was a 1967 graduate of Bassick High School in Bridgeport. Prior to retiring in 2007, she was employed for 16 years as a bartender by the VFW in Manheim. Previously, she was employed by the former Purcell's in Bridgeport and Hartley & Parker in Milford, CT where she was a dispatcher.
Carol had a zest for life. She enjoyed cooking and cook outs, spending time in Atlantic City and camping. She especially enjoyed camping at Knoeels where she and her husband spent a week with their family annually. She also enjoyed watching drag racing and NASCAR. Her favorite driver was Tony Stewart. Carol was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She is remembered by her family for her desire to put the needs of others above herself.
She was the devoted mother of two children, Jeffery L. (Angela A. Herr) Frechette and Lori A. (Michael A.) George, both of Manheim; and an awesome grandmother to five grandchildren; Corey L. Frechette, Aaron J. Frechette, Ashley R. George, Dylan M. George, and Jordan T. George.
