Barry L. Longenecker, 65, of Lititz, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday morning, September 18, 2015, at Bob Fryer and Family Inpatient Center of Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Carl H. and Meda Jane Geib Longenecker of Lititz. He was the husband of Jackie M. Orth Longenecker for 44 years.
Barry was a member of Manheim Brethren in Christ Church. He thoroughly enjoyed the 25 years of his employment as a breeder service technician with Longenecker's Hatchery in Elizabethtown. He was an avid golfer and received joy in time spent with his family. Barry served as a leader for the Lancaster County Baby Beef 4-H Club and also the Manheim Farm Show Committee.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by two children, Angela S., wife of Darvin Stoner, and their children Conrad and Ciara, and Jeremy S., husband of Twila King Longenecker, and their children Carissa and Cody, all of Lititz; and three brothers, Michael, husband of Miriam Longenecker, of Manheim, Roland, husband of Carolyn Longenecker, of Manheim, and Ken, husband of Pam Longenecker, of Lititz.
A memorial service will be held on Monday morning, September 21, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Manheim Brethren in Christ Church, 54 North Penryn Road, Manheim, PA, with Pastors Brian Thomas and Bill Melone officiating. There will be viewing at the church on Sunday evening from 5-8:00 PM (use Chapel/Office entrance). There will be no viewing Monday morning, however the family will receive guests from 10:00 AM until the time of the service (use Carport entrance).
