Arlene H. Snavely, 86, of Landisville, PA, formerly of the Manheim and Mount Joy areas, was called home on Thursday morning, March 12, 2015, at Lancashire Hall, Lancaster, following a brief illness. Born in Rapho Twp., Lancaster, Co., PA, she was the daughter of the late Menno G. and Barbara Hernley Snavely. Arlene was a member of Mount Joy Mennonite Church. She was employed as a clothing sales clerk and in alterations for more than 30 years. Her last employment was with the former Watt and Shand Co., for 10 years. Following retirement, she volunteered with Eastern Mennonite Missions for three years as a houseparent in Philadelphia. Arlene wishes to express her sincere appreciation for all those that cared for her body, soul, and spirit. She is survived by one niece, Geraldine M., wife of Donald L. Hershey, of Manheim and two nephews, L. Eugene, husband of Jean B. Snavely, of Lititz, and Elwood L., husband of Nancy L. Snavely, of Manheim. She was preceded in death by three siblings, Alvin H., Emory H., and Rhoda H. Snavely. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday morning, March17, 2015 at 11;00 AM at Mount Joy Mennonite Church, 320 Musser Road, Mount Joy, PA with Pastors Karl Landis and Dawn Winey officiating. Private interment will be in the Hernley Mennonite Cemetery, Manheim. The family will receive guests at the church on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
