Ann F. Brubaker, of Elizabethtown, PA, died of congestive heart failure on Saturday afternoon, February 21, 2015 at Masonic Health Care Center at Masonic Village. She was a resident at Masonic Village since 2009. She was one month shy of her 95th birthday. Ann was born in Annville, PA to the late Harry B. and Minnie Kreider Longenecker. She moved to the Elizabethtown area after graduating from the former Annville High School. She met Pete Brubaker and they married in 1941. Ann was a sweet person who rarely had an unkind word to say about anyone. She was a lifetime member of the Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She retired from the Elizabethtown Area School District where she was employed in the finance office and as a cashier in the cafeteria. She enjoyed her leisure time with an area bowling league, on the golf course, and a card club. She and her husband traveled extensively. Following his death, she continued to travel with her girlfriends. Animals, particularly her dogs and grand dogs, were a forever pleasure to her. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Pete, and son, Bob. She is survived by a daughter, Beverly Holliday of Mount Joy; two grandsons, Scott and Nathan Brubaker, and their mother Carole Brubaker; four great grandsons; and a brother, Harry, husband of Dodie Longenecker, of Elizabethtown. All of her family will miss her. She was a great lady. A gathering to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday afternoon, March 12, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Roosevelt Assembly Room at Masonic Health Care Center. Private interment will be in Mount Tunnel Cemetery, Elizabethtown. The family will receive guests in the Roosevelt Assembly Room at a light reception immediately following the service.
