Obituary

Alpha K. Oberholtzer, 85, formerly of Elizabethtown, was called to her eternal home on Thursday afternoon, September 18, 2014 while at the Harrisburg Hospital with her loving sisters by her side. Born in Mount Joy Twp., Lancaster County, she was the daughter of the late Albert E. and Sarah E. Koser Greenawalt. She was the wife of Richard L. "Tiny" Oberholtzer to whom she would have been married for 54 years on December 24. Alpha was a charter member of God's Missionary Church in Salunga where she taught Sunday school in the primary department. In addition to being a domestic worker, she was employed by the former Moyer Potato Chip Company in Elizabethtown as a supervisor. Along with her husband, she supported her community by volunteering countless hours to local fire departments. Alpha genuinely loved others and possessed a giving spirit. She will be greatly missed. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Laycene R., wife of Dan Rosenfeld, Mount Joy; five siblings, Arlene, wife of M. Ken Brackbill, of Columbia, J. Albert, husband of Carol Greenawalt, of Elizabethtown, a, Aaron, husband of Sylvia Greenawalt, of Kansas, Roscoe, husband of Hannah Greenawalt, of Elizabethtown, and Sara Jane, wife of Ralph Boltz, of Manheim; and a sister-in-law, Edith Greenawalt of Columbia. She was preceded in death by three siblings, Raymond Greenawalt, Ardella Greenawalt, and Benjamin Greenawalt. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 7:00 PM at God's Missionary Church, 48 Holland Street, Salunga, PA with Pastor Barry J. Arnold officiating. Private interment will be in Mount Pleasant Brethren in Christ Cemetery, Mount Joy, PA. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday evening from 6:00 PM until the time of the service. Please omit flowers.
